Every December, the city of Miami transforms from a fast-paced
city to a global art hub.
Let’s start with the internationally recognized Art Basel Miami Beach, which returns from Friday, Dec. 5, through Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025, with a VIP preview on Dec. 4. The event is hosted at the Miami Beach Convention Center and the event draws galleries and artworks from across the globe.

It began in 2002 as the American edition of the Basel fair. Art Basel Miami Beach has grown into an iconic time of Miami’s long cultural calendar. Tickets for students begin at $68 while standard day admission is priced at $88. This year’s edition promises to be especially extensive, with 250 galleries from around 35 countries.
Walking the halls of the convention center and then out into Miami’s art week landscape within the individual neighborhoods like Wynwood, the Design District, and Downtown, you’ll experience bold installations, large-scale sculptures, panel conversations and the energy of creative exchange around you.
Barry students offer a lot to the Art Basel community, and they can gain a lot as well. Students might be in business, marketing, art and communication. Exposure to visual art and installations offers fresh ways of thinking about brand stories, design, user experience, community engagement and culture.
Senior Corey Sykes is a Miami native who has attended Art Basel events four years in a row.“My favorite was the art gallery,” Sykes said.
The events take place within a week, and there are many opportunities, paid and free, to indulge in the culture.
Art lovers planning to attend can explore Art Basel Miami Beach as well as Art Miami, another of the city’s most anticipated events during what is now dubbed Miami Art Week.

Just across Biscayne Bay, Art Miami runs December 2–7, 2025, at the Art Miami Pavilion, One Herald Plaza, offering single-day passes from $55 and multi-day options for avid art fans.
Together, these two art fairs showcase the diversity, innovation, and creative energy that make Miami’s Art Week a global cultural celebration. Many nightlife venues will capitalize on the energy of the city and host adjacent events.
Factory Town is an open-air music venue located in Hialeah, close to Miami International Airport. They host large music events, and they are hosting an 18+ five-day event beginning Wednesday, Dec. 3 and ending Sunday, Dec. 7.
Multiple large DJs are hosting their own events within different sectors of the venue. On Wednesday, there are popular DJs like Tiesto, Hugel and Josh Baker. They have huge house music hits like “Wasted,” “Jubel,” and “Dr Feel Right,” which have either
been viral on TikTok or long-time hits.
On Thursday, there is another stacked day with DJs Cloonee, Chris Stussy and Skepta. These DJs have more huge house hits like “Stephanie HNTR remix,” “Desire” and “Cops and Robbers.”
There is also the traveling Circoloco, Ibiza-style party doing a full venue takeover on Dec. 6, hosting many iconic and popular DJs like ANOTR, Beltran, Mau P, and Pawsa. These are huge heavy-hitter DJs with hits like “Relax My Eyes,” “Smack Yo,” “The less I know the better,” and “Dirty Cash (Money Talks).”

This event is guaranteed to be a hit; tickets range in price, but they are sold out for Circoloco. There is a Factory Basel Pass ticket for $299 to access all days, which is about $60 per day. For Barry University students, it’s an exceptional opportunity to immerse themselves in the arts and the Miami community. Whether you’re into communication strategy, visual storytelling, operations, or creative media, there’s something here to expand your horizon.
