Everyone wants to feel special, and what is more special than a day planned out entirely for you? Although Valentine’s Day has passed, there are always plenty of reasons to celebrate. Whether you are new to Miami or not, check out this list of safe places fellow students recommend taking your loved one that brings the perfect vibe.
Neverland Coffee Bar

If your loved one enjoys coffee, senior nursing student Jordana Scarlett has the perfect advice, stating, “Neverland Coffee Bar is one of my favorite places to go on a date. The scenery is pretty, the aesthetic is beautiful, and it’s open seating so it can be very intimate or casual.” With the surrounding area having a bakery and plenty of other cozy shops, you’re certain to enjoy your time with a loved one there!
Mini Golf – Puttshack
If you are looking for something loud and lively, with a lot of foot traffic, Brickell will be your perfect place. Senior Pre-Law student Jack Gulzien said on the matter “Mini golf at Puttshack in Brickell City Center is perfect for an interactive date, it’s a great activity, it’s competitive, and allows you to talk.”
Miami Beach

In contrast, taking a long walk or spending a day at South Point Beach or Park in Miami Beach with food, games, and music is perfect for those looking for a relaxed vibe with a stunning view. Overlooking the ocean, Miami’s skyline, and Fisher Island, you can walk along the pier, or even have a picnic with your loved one. While famous for its lively environment, Miami Beach offers the perfect combination of chaos and calm. Couples looking for a private quiet escape can turn to local spas, rooftops, or cute cafés that surround the area, offering a secluded alternative from the crowds.
Dates Downtown
You can find just about any type of food you’re craving in Brickell, ranging from Italian, Mediterranean, and Caribbean to Japanese and Latin fusion. senior communication student Adam Bouamra stated, “A cool spot that I found recently is called Casa Tua Cucina in Brickell. I had a better experience at this location than the Miami Beach location as this location is more volume oriented, seats walk-ins, and has lots of wine and pasta options.”
He also added, “There's this new restaurant called Rosa Negra, the first location in the United States, branching off in Tulum and Cabo, it’s Latin and infused with Japanese food when it comes to sushi and sashimi, but ultimately you are going for the experience, its lively, there's fi re dancers, music and it's just a good vibe for sure and somewhere I definitely want to go back to.”
If neither of the above strikes your fancy, then the heart of downtown Miami might. Bayside Marketplace is a safe outdoor shopping center with waterfront views, food, and live music.
“Bayside Marketplace allows you to take a boat ride, grab dinner, or simply enjoy a casual walk along the walkway," said Bouamra.
Bayside is one of the broadest, and safest, bets for a satisfying date for the sheer variety of it. It’s one of the few places you can enjoy the ocean, go on a Ferris wheel, and still sit down at a fancy restaurant.
Miami may be known for its unpredictable or dangerous nightlife, but there are plenty of safe spots where you can fully enjoy quality time with a loved one. Whether you’re celebrating a milestone or just looking to get away from schoolwork for a night, these places off er the perfect balance of fun, safety, and great vibes.
