BAYFRONT PARK

Here comes the holidays with free concerts, holiday light shows, and outdoor yoga hosted by instructor, Nicolay Del Salto, at Bayfront Park Miami. According to the website, “Monday & Thursday classes are donation-based, with a suggested contribution of $15. Give what feels right for you, as we believe yoga should be accessible to all.” All you need is a yoga mat and water bottle, both of which can be found at your local dollar store.

LOCATION/TIME:

301 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33132 Mondays & Thursday 6 -7 p.m.

DIRECTIONS:

Take Bus Route 9 from Barry to Downtown Miami.

Travel Time: 25-30 minutes.

TRANSIT TIPS:

Routes 2, 9, 10 serve Barry campus directly. Route 9 - Downtown Miami for Bayfront, Museum Park, and transfers to Wynwood & Miami Beach. Barry’s Shores Shuttle = free local transport for errands & dining. Use the Miami-Dade Transit app for live bus tracking.

PUPTOBER FEST

Get ready for cute puppies and a good time at Puptober Fest, hosted by the Town of Miami Lakes at K-9 Cove. It's the perfect place to let your pup off the leash and to be at peace. The four hour long event will feature engaging activities like dog adoptions hallo-weenie races, dog portraits, dog-friendly ice cream, and more.

LOCATION/TIME:

14048 Palmetto Frontage Rd, Miami Lakes, FL 33016 Saturday, Oct. 11 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

DIRECTIONS:

Driving/Uber recommended (about 27 min drive). Public transportation is available via Bus Route 9 from Barry then connect to Route 135 or 73 toward Miami Lakes.

Travel Time: 1 hr 15 min by bus, 27 min by car.

You don’t need to be a senior to discover career growth opportunities; freshmen are welcome to join the in-person interviews for industry jobs including sales, retail, customer service, education & admissions, healthcare & engineering and more! Hyatt Regency - 400 South Drive, Miami, FL 33133 Nov. 5 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

DIRECTIONS:

Driving: about 25–30 min from Barry University (traffic may vary). Parking available at or near the Hyatt. By Bus: Take Route 9 from Barry then connect to Metrorail (Doug- las Road Station) then short ride to Coconut Grove / Hyatt area. Travel Time: 1 hr by transit, 25- 30 min by car.
